Planning Engineer (Contract)                                                            November 2006 –February 2008

Jarvis Rail

Rugby Remodelling, part of the West Coast Main Line modernisation programme

Key Project:

Major track restructuring to allow higher speed running through Rugby, addition of  three new platforms along with a new ticket office and entrance. Part of a £7.6Billion programme

Roles and Responsibilities:

¨        Prepared a work breakdown structure to enhance planning following the requirements of the Guide to Railway Investment Project (GRIP) now Governance for Railway Investment Projects.

¨        Monthly reports of Earned Value progress/dates & S-Curves.

¨        Prepared and monitored Infrastructure Programs for Civil OHL Electrical, Mechanical and Signaling on Primavera P3, P3e.

¨        Monitored progress of contractors programs during construction.

¨        Produced the agreed reports in line with both client/internal requirements such as Dashboard, Earned Value, Productivity, Histograms, and Baseline Variance and 3 week look ahead reports.

¨        Performed Time-Risk analysis against the programme at regular intervals within the project lifecycle, in line with the Project Risk register

Key Accomplishment:

This was a large and complex project involving 18 different contractors working on site at the same time. Managed subcontractors programme into the intergrated  programme from early stage of planning to minimize project delays.
