A. Responsibilities Construction Manager

  1. General Administration of all Construction Activities.
    1. Procuring of  sub contracts
    2. Staff Hiring
    3. Liaison with all Stakeholders
    4. Processing of Payments
    5. Preparation of  invoices . 
  2. Manage Occupational Health and Safety matters
    1. OHS Plan Compilation
    2. Risk Assessment , Hazard Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment, Work Procedure, COIDA Registration, Construction Notification,
    3. Prepare manuals and Induction Training.

- Sites inspection for compliance.(eg. OHS, Regulations and Specifications)  in relation to the appropriate Acts.

- Training of Site Agents, Supervisors .

B. Responsibilities as General Manager Engen Service Stations

  • Managing three Engen Garages  with 3three Quick shops and 1 food shop with  114  staff and 9 supervisors with a turnover of  R8.1 million.
  • Recruits, hires and provides new hire orientation for all employees.
  • Tracks all retail and lottery sales earnings and reports them directly to the owner.
  • Maintains employee schedules, reviews time cards, runs payroll and terminates employees.
  • Maintain an average GP% acceptable to management (Discussed on monthly basis)
  • Correct pricing of merchandize
  • Competitive pricing (monthly comparison check with competitors)
  • contracting with vendors to procure new products.

  • Ordering of stock (as per daily schedule)
  • Dealing with the representatives (as per daily schedule)
  • Participating in National and Regional promotional activities
  • Assist with the input of invoices & credit notes
  • Interpret management reports on Branch such as negative GP% (Daily); Negative stock on hand (weekly), slow moving reports (Monthly) etc.
  • Do daily price update batches and print labels
  • Do stock takes daily, weekly, and monthly (as per stock take schedule) and implement general shrinkage control.  Each and every item will be counted on a monthly basis.
  • Make recommendations to management on any issues arising out of running the business more profitable and more efficient
  • Train candidates from Engen
  • Implement and maintain security measures
  • Any other tasks that is consistent with the running of an effective business
  • Any other tasks that are consistent with the expansion of the business like for instance added product lines through the establishment of a bakery etc.
