Range of skills, duties & responsibilities:

   Based on general guidance, objectives and some specific work assignments with the Lead Planner/Scheduler and/or Program Controllers, develops the capability and supervises the performance for project planning/scheduling analysis, reporting and project progress evaluation. Acts as advisor to project management on company policies and procedures for planning and scheduling.

ESSENTIAL TASKSinclude the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the current County Personnel Ordinance, County policies and applicable laws.
  • Assists in recruiting, training and supervising a staff qualified to analyze and schedule activities pertinent to the design and construction of projects.
  • Make persuasive presentations on complex topics to top management, public groups and/or boards, and employees.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Tender Documents.
  •  Write and edit reports, correspondence, procedures and other required documentation.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Formulate goals, policies, programs, procedures, and work schedules.
  • Assign duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide project management, participate in work groups and attend public meetings.
  • Apply principles, practices, laws and regulations for planning, zoning, and land development.
  • Interpret and analyze legal documents and determines impact of legislation.
  • Provide planning oversight and coordination for entire Program.
  • Overseas, trains, mentors multiple planners that plan and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Plans for and manages delays that may happen in construction.
  • Provides on-site construction administration as necessary.
  •  Obtains budget approval for change order requests and keeps project team informed. Verifies actual progress and compares actual performances to original baseline schedule and cost.
  •  Participates in construction project meetings.
  • Focal point for programs cost engineering-related activities.
  • Oversees planning and scheduling, assists planners in preparation of micro-level schedule of works for construction in scheduling software, and develops the program master schedule, Project Close-Out Report and Documentation.
  • Maintains construction schedules of assigned projects incorporating permit sequence chart, drawing submittal logs, material submittal logs Including Long Lead Items& Short Lead Items, and subcontractor, preliminary schedule including purchase order lead times.
  • Generates final construction schedule based on construction drawings and project milestones (Control, Major, Key And Completion Date milestones) CM,MM,KM,CD.
  • Monitor Ld-liquidated damages to imposed if not achieved or refundable if achieved (for details refer general terms and conditions) and Provides analysis.
  • Tracks project DTF (Documents /Drawings Transmittal Form), submittals Logs status and communicates schedule and updates with construction management team.
  • Maintains the cost system for projects, including project cost reports, variation analysis, trends, and changes.
