Senior Planner, Wates Construction, ASU Tatchbury Mount, Southampton; Yeovil District Hospital

START Date:
June, 2005
END Date:
June, 2007

Project Planner – ASU, Tatchbury Mount (P21 under NEC 2nd Ed. contract – design & build):

Responsible for planning the completion of design, as well as the procurement and construction of this new build P21 secure facility for challenging adolescents in Southampton.

The project was a largely single storey building of heavy duty construction, with three residential wards, administration and education sections.

I was also later part of the team involved in the bid stage planning for the £90m commercial redevelopment at Winnersh Triangle in Reading.

Project Planner – Yeovil District Hospital (P21 under NEC 2nd Ed. contract – design & build):

Here, I planned the refurbishment of Yeovil District Hospital in two phases, with detailed planning required for both the construction work and the Trust’s decant works to facilitate timely handover of areas to Wates, and re-occupation upon completion of each stage.

Logistics plans were produced in Power Point slide shows to illustrate to members of the Client Project Team how the work would progress and the effects on the daily running of the Hospital, which remained in full use during construction works. This was used to great effect in maintaining live services during potentially disruptive works to integrate new installations with existing facilities.
