Vital Energi install industrial heating / energy generation systems including the distribution & associated building services to both public & private sector clients. Employed to head the company’s Planning Dept & to oversee the expansion of planning during a period of company growth with Administrator rights to the Primavera database. This includes production of software specific planning procedures, delivering training sessions & inputs into strategic planning. Alongside this role, provision of full planning & project management support to the most challenging projects on the company’s books, the largest of which being the design through to installation & commissioning of the Energy Centre for the BBC’s new offices (Media City) at Salford Quays. The project comprised 2 8MW boilers, a 2MW CHP engine, absorption chiller & canal cooling system & all the associated systems to distribute the heating, cooling & ventilation throughout the site. My role included the supervision & monitoring of a large number of sub-contractors, development of the contract plan into a detailed construction plan with (integrated) buy-in from all sub-contractors working on the project, progress updates, the management of change control through tiered clients & the impact onto the plan’s critical path throughout the life of the project.
