Winner of ICE Tunnelling Project of the Year 2016, this project was to provide a pedestrian tunnel, linking the existing London Underground Bakerloo Line Platforms and the new Crossrail Station at Paddington. Carried out under an NEC Option C contract, it consisted of 180m tunnel, formed by machine and hand excavation, with a sprayed concrete primary lining and cast concrete secondary lining. The project included lift and escalator installation, extensive modifications to existing live station platforms during closures and MEP installation, testing and commissioning. Reporting to the Project Director, I headed a small team carrying out the project controls function. I was responsible for the development of the programme from the start of the design and preconstruction phase, through construction and into the testing phase. I implemented and ran the weekly and periodic collaborative planning sessions. There were used to develop, manage and communicate the integrated programme for the direct works and supply chain partners elements. I also worked closely with the commercial team to produce the monthly valuations and periodic reports as well as early warnings and compensation events.
