The Turnaround Management Company (TTMC)                                                                                                                          Sweeny, TX

Lead P3 Turnaround Scheduler                                                                                                                                                                                             Oct ‘99 to Sep ‘00

Supervised the construction of a 26,000 activity Turnaround Schedule for Phillips Petroleum in Sweeny, Texas for their August 2000 “Coker Tie-in Turnaround”.  The schedule was built in less than one year from “scratch” (i.e. without the aid of an ERP or CMMS data source) in Primavera P3 2.0b and 3.0 utilizing a multiple-subproject, multi-user format.  Ten schedulers from six different contractors (both T&M as well as lump sum) were involved in building the schedule concurrently while under my control and direction utilizing a "war room" concept.  Pervasive SQL 2000 Btrieve was required to run P3 under this multi-user arrangement.  The "oil-to-oil" schedule included all phases of work including pre-shutdown, shutdown and de-inventory, energy isolation, turnaround (maintenance), capital improvements and tie-ins, de-isolation, re-inventory, startup and post-turnaround.  The fully resource loaded and leveled schedule involved seven existing units and two grassroots units in the refinery and required approximately 500K man-hours over a 6-week outage.

Austin Industries (Austin Industrial Maintenance)                                                                                                                               La Porte, TX

Turnaround Planning & Scheduling Supervisor                                                                                                                                Jan ‘98 to Aug ‘99

Supervised eight turnaround planners and two material specialists in the detailed planning (using Fluor’s CMMS+ software) of four maintenance/capital turnarounds (VAM, Methanol, Acetic Acid and Syngas units) at Millennium Petrochemicals’ (MPI) La Porte, Texas facility.  Built each of the four systems-level resource loaded and leveled hourly turnaround schedules in Primavera P3 (total of approximately 6K activities) from the CMMS+ plans using a custom-designed Microsoft Access interface procedure which I developed specifically for the project.  All four shutdowns finished on time or ahead of schedule, despite only 4-8 weeks preparation time for each schedule.  Upon completion of the final turnaround in November, I was tasked to lead MPI’s legacy ERP data migration efforts from CMMS+ to SAP R/3 using Microsoft Access.  This included the selection, normalization and field mapping of the equipment master records (including formatted specs), material master records, bills-of-material (MRO) records and master plans/preventive maintenance schedules.  This was successfully accomplished five days ahead of the original “Go-Live” date and over a six-month period with only minimal part-time assistance from three other individuals, one of whom was not based in Texas.
