Project Controls Manager for the construction of a $8.5B open-pit gold mine project. Responsible for planning, estimating, scheduling, cost, risk mitigation, and reporting for the mega project. Daily interface with owner management teams, subcontractors, and EPCM prime contractor.  Supervisor for 30 owner staff and 50 EPCM indirect project controls personnel. Achievements include the successful establishment of complicated project work breakdown structure, approval of definitive cost estimate with 26M direct craft labor hours, master schedule, baselines to report earned value, the establishment of installed quantities, labor productivity reporting, and identification of early changes to management for disposition before impact to project schedule. Successful in prioritizing, multi-tasking and managing the large work volumes and pressures associated with a mega project. Responsible for the establishment of successful Project Controls policies and practices in an organization which had a substantial cost and schedule overruns and resulted in successful owner control of total cost management for the project.  The project was put on hold due to the declining gold price.
