Senior Planner / Planning Manager (Melaka, Malaysia)

LEKAS Project - PETRONAS Gas Berhad

The LEKAS Project is an Offshore LNG Regasification Facility with a capacity of 3.8 Million Tons Per Annum set up in Melaka. The facility is designed to import LNG, store in Floating Storage Unit (FSU) and vaporize in the Regasification Unit on the jetty. The natural gas (NG) is to be transferred into the Peninsula Gas Utilization (PGU) network through new pipelines, operated by PGB. The Scope of Work included the Regasification Unit on Island Jetty (JRU). The project consisted both of modularized prefabricated components to be lifted and installed offshore as well as significant stick built works offshore. Project was valued at USD 345 million.

 

·         Developed the revised Integrated Project Master Schedule - Level 3 incorporating new Execution Strategy (Modularization).

·         Set up the Construction Progress Measurement system. Independently created Construction progress reporting system (using Excel Macros) for daily monitoring and reporting of Site progress.

·         Dynamically supervised and drove weekly progress of main pre-fabrication sub-contractor (Control Room, Jackets, Bridges, Precast).

·         Took over Planning Manager function and led Planning Section (2 Planners) at Construction Stage.

·         Supervised the updates by planning personnel of daily Offshore installation works progress and prepared daily progress reports.

·         Provided inputs and prepared recovery plans as well as detailed works schedule for Construction Discipline Leads.

 

Lead Planner (Miri, Malaysia)

Integrity Restoration (IR) Project - Shell Sarawak Berhad

The Integrity Restoration Project is an EPCm contract services for Shell Malaysia E&P. The IR Project consisted of 300 brown field maintenance projects and was established to manage the scoping, engineering, execution and closeout of restoration works related to Asset Integrity for 13 facilities in Offshore Sarawak and Sabah. The Project was a 5 years’ project (3 +2) with estimated value of USD 350 million. Total engineering man hours was 500,000, while Execution works were approx. 1.2 million.

 

·         Responsible of the Planning Team (1 Senior Planner, 2 Planners).

·         Developed Project Control Execution Plan (Planning), integrated Project Master Schedule and Progress Measurement System.

·         Revised Project Master Schedule on yearly basis to establish yearly Offshore Campaigns and set up yearly targets and budgets.

·         Prepared monthly progress updates and provided analysis (Earned Value, Variance and Performance analysis) to Project Management and Leads.

·         Chaired weekly planning meeting where schedule and progress were reviewed in details with Managers, Project Engineers and Technical Leads.

·         Actively helped in bringing back the project on track and regaining the Client confidence. Project was extended after completion of first 3 years.

 

Lead Project Control Engineer (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

Lynas Advanced Material Project - Lynas Corporation Ltd

The Lynas Advanced Material Project consisted in the development of a grassroots Mineral Processing Plant for the production of rare earth concentrates (15,000 t/a). Facilities included Concentration plant, Cracking & Separation plant, product finishing and storage, waste water treatment plant, administrative building and all utilities. The total cost was estimated at USD 190 million. The EPCm Phase (approx. 700,000 hrs.) was being conducted in several offices (Beijing, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and Site) and managed from Kuala Lumpur. The estimated Construction works were approx. 3 million mhrs.

 

·         Responsible of the Project Controls Team (2 Cost Controller, 2 Planners).

·         Developed Project Control Execution Plan, Project Master Schedule (Level 3) and Progress Measurement System for all phases of the Project.

·         Prepared weekly and monthly schedule and progress updates. Provided analysis (Critical Path, Earned Value, Variance and Performance analysis) to Project Management and Client.

·         Set up Control Budget based on approved TIC and ensure monthly cost updates including Forecast At Completion and Estimated Cost at Completion.

·         Coordinated preparation of Weekly and Monthly Progress Report.

·         Prior to start of Construction, supervised the development of Level 4 schedule for Construction.

Provided support for the selection of keys subcontractors and ensure establishment of their schedules and progress measurement as per project requirements
