Tengiz Future Growth Project - Oil & Gas Kazakhstan

This project’s intention is to increase the Oil Production Capacity to a recently completed and operational second Generation Project Plant in Kazakhstan. In addition all associated sour gas that is generated will be re-injected into the Tengiz Reservoir. We had expansive civil works that where required prior to the new plant construction taking place. Complete excavations where undertaken alongside huge volumes of earth relocation, followed by a complex foundation networks with vast quantities of rebar, Piling foundations, and precast concrete structures. We had an a dedicated On site Concrete supply plant erected in order to provide uninterrupted concrete supply and sampling was undertaken on batches prior to pouring into form work structures.

  • Built & Developed the Contracts & Procurement elements associated with these works in the schedule.
  • Progress & Update monthly schedules
  • Communicate any Early Work / FEED changes to other teams as required by means of the schedule.
  • Identify Long Lead impacts & Propose Mitigation solutions in order to achieve the 2015, 2016 & 2017 Sealift Logistical timeframe windows.
  • Reduced project costs by £3 Million by improving logistics & Manufacturing timetables to coincide
  • Monthly reporting of project Commercial progress for Project Controls reporting to client.

Simandou Iron Ore Project - Guinea Africa

This project was a Green site with extremely challenging forestry. It comprises the complete Design, Build & Management of 35 site camps that contain between 150-7500 people. These camps were fully functional and contained everything from Communication systems to Fire Response & Helicopter Facilities, Power Plant Generator Sets, Microwave communication Links to support the build of 750km of Railway through Mountains, Swamp Land and Habitation areas, for the purpose of extracting Iron Ore from a new Rio Tinto mine project location. I was responsible for the Design & Build programme for Tunnel Construction via explosive excavation, Rail Signalling, Power Stations, Communications, Logistics and Part of the Haulage Road Build Sequencing. Civil designs called for piling requirements due to ground conditions in soft unstable soil samples throughout various sites.

  • Build & Develop programme from PEA Estimate alongside Estimation Team
  • Identify Long Lead impacts & Propose Mitigation solutions
  • Bi-Weekly Progress of Schedule & Update L2 schedules via Teleconference & Site Visits
  • Monitor & manage L3 detailed schedule build, Costs & Resourcing inputs
  • Review & Contribute to Tender Review / Selection process
  • Interface with Commercial Templates to capture Change/Variation
  • Enhanced project savings by £2 Million by improving logistics & reducing Manufacturing & Storage costs
  • Cost Load & Resource schedule to produce CPI / SPI reports for period end reporting
  • Monthly Management Reporting of project progress, & generate summary Issues / constraints reports
  • Monitor & Follow-up on Procurement/Logistics requirements for the Project
