Project Controls Manager , Siemens AG Group, North Terminal Baggage Improvement Gatwick Airport
This is a Baggage contract where Siemens are the primary Baggage Integration partner responsible for the Electrical / Controls Installation & Commissioning for the New & Existing Baggage Handling Systems across the North Terminal Project. The new complete design incorporated 5 HBS Machines, 2 Sorters as well as the 32 new BAA Check-in Desks. Associated works required civil loading calculations to be undertaken to support the new increased and extensive structure loadings. Numerous footings required breakout and recasting to meet new design specifications. Associated temporary load bearing points needed to be designed to accommodate these additional civil works. Buried service scans where undertaken due to deeper and enlarged footprints.
- Update contract programme and baseline
- Lead Project Controls processes, Planning team & Interface with Commercial Templates to capture Change/Variation
- Monthly Project Status reporting of CPI & SPI Health status
- Discuss & Develop Technical Baggage Controls Programme, ATP & Break-In Detail for PLC Input
- Create daily site programme target schedules to achieve Integrated programme milestone dates
- Daily/Weekly progress reports as required to track progress on critical path activities
- Represent Siemens AG Programme presentations to client & interface with LSC Project
- Cost Load & Resource schedule to produce CPI / SPI reports for period end reporting
- Lead & Drive site teams to achieve completion dates / phases
- Introduce Schedule Project Control philosophy for Gatwick Project in Siemens
- Raise/Monitor EWN register and input programme impact into Baseline once agreed
- Attend PPC/NABS/DABS meetings as required
- Daily site progress visit to capture delays/impacts.
- Attend and contribute to Management meetings focusing on Critical Path Activities and suggest Mitigation options available.
