Senior Planner, BECHTEL, Queensland Curtis LNG Project
START Date:
October, 2010
END Date:
September, 2011 Development of Cost Control and Contractor reporting systems until project gained NTP.
- As I was deployed to the site very early ahead of the LNG Tanks’ commencement I assumed roles of both cost and trends engineer in the field reporting back to Bechtel corporate in Houston, Texas.
- Job function included tailoring subcontractor reporting formats and monitoring early works subcontractors for marine facilities, site preparation (including clearing and bulk earthworks), camp facilities and Bechtel internal direct hire scope.
- For the greater part I worked alone in the cost department reporting to functional management in corporate until the Project Controls manager mobilized to the field in 2011. Additional duties included compilation of the internal Weekly Construction Progress Report and routine Subcontractor progress monitoring and meeting interface. Site visits to the island were frequent.
- With cost & trend duties eventually handed over I commenced the early works (Temporary Facilities) planning in support of the LNG Tanks construction group being able to start. Planning scope included all underground utilities, civil, infrastructure and electrical activities driving the construction start milestone.
- In parallel with the early works planning I maintained my function as field Tanks Planner for internal weekly & monthly status reporting and further development of the well advanced Tanks build schedule by analysing the available construction procedures, drawings and both engineering & procurement data issued on a weely basis.
