WORK EXPERIENCE: -

1 June 2010 – Till date: Working with M/s Petrofac International (UAE) LLC as Project Controls Manager for Majnoon Oil Field Development, FCP Project-Iraq. Value of the project is 1.5 Billion US Dollars overall.The project consists (Sub-surface Development) of new well pads, Infield pipeline, Greenfield and Brownfield. Under Greenfield new Central Processing Facilities are being build to produce oil at 100,000 barrel per day and Brownfield is for revamping of two existing Degassing Stations (DS1 & DS2) additional oil well pad  to increase production up to 150,000 barrel per day, Petrofac is providing EPCM services to Shell in Iraq. I am responsible for the management based in Iraq of all Project Controls activities such as scheduling, budgeting, estimating, invoicing, risk management, reporting, document controls, contract administration support and administrative services. I am also responsible for managing a team consists of Project Planners, schedulers (using P6), cost engineers, progress monitors, estimators and document controllers. Establishing and maintaining project controls procedures, document controls procedures, invoicing procedure, workable schedule that use to manage and monitor the multi discipline EPCM activities. Establishing and maintaining an effective recourses (manpower, equipment and material) tracking system and integrate this into the cost and progress measurement system. Integration of the Progress and Cost monitoring systems to provide valuable and understandable daily, weekly and monthly reports and issue to all stakeholders / client.

Dec 2007 – 31 May 2010:Worked withM/s WorleyParsons (Kuwait Branch) as Lead Planning Engineer/

PEC1.Building New Booster Station BS 160 and interconnecting pipelines at South East Kuwait, Value of the project was 625 million US Dollars. EPCM contract for 20” and 16” dia ~200 Kilometer cross-country fuel gas pipeline, Value of the project was 236 million US Dollars. Responsible for preparation & updating of resource loaded CPM network schedule by using Primavera (P3.1& P6) for Project Management Consultants (PMC) services such as PMC feed design schedule including Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), PHASER and EPC detailed schedule. I was reporting to project’s top management. Responsible for supervision of Project Controls team 8 Nos. for preparation schedule, review, monitor, control and approve  project controls procedures, activity quantities tracking, monthly, weekly bi-weekly and daily progress reports, monthly project Invoice for Engineering Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) services, progress and invoicing  measurement system to report to the client (KOC). Also responsible for follow up with the client (KOC), answering any client’s queries during the approval process. Coordination with engineering, procurement & construction departments to ensure smooth flow of inter disciplinary operations. Analyze project progress as per baseline schedule and alert management on problem areas. Preparing and attending Monthly progress presentation meetings and weekly progress coordination   with client. Preparing the Variation Proposals and participating in negotiations with client until Adjustment Order executed.  Participate in Negotiations with vendors/subcontractors till job award. Verifying subcontractors/vendors monthly progress invoices. I was also responsible for preparation of Project Management Plan (PMP) for new projects.  I ensure all project costs are allocated, recorded, analysed, monitored and controlled against project and company’s established cost codes. To monitor, analyse, control and report current and forecast expenditures against approved budgets to enable project and corporate management to ensure that final project costs are within the approved AFE.   

 

May 2006 – Nov 2007:Worked with M/s Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC). – Kuwait Branch.

As ‘Senior Planning Engineer’ for Construction of ethylene plant for PIC .Value of the construction project was 110

Million US Dollars. Responsible for preparation, obtain approval & updating of cost and resource loaded

CPM (Critical Path Method) network schedule by using Primavera (P3/P3.1).  Responsible for preparation of

Activity quantity tracking, monthly, weekly and daily progress reports, monthly and PMS (Progress

Measurement System) to the client (Technip), answering any client’s queries during the approval process.

Coordination inter construction departments to ensure smooth flow of inter disciplinary operations.

June 2002 – April 2006:Worked with M/s Snamprogetti S. p. A. (ENI group) an Italian Company, as 

a‘Project Controls Coordinator‘ for the projects 1) “Installation of new BS-131 and interconnecting lines

With gathering Centers and BS-130” (Including two tanks) - North Kuwait. Value of the project was 200 million US Dollars. 2) Lift Gas Distribution system for Sabriyah & Raudhatain oil fields, Phase 1- North Kuwait. Value of the project was 23 million US Dollars. Responsible for preparation & updating of cost & resource loaded CPM network schedule by using Primavera (P3 / P3.1).  Responsible for preparation of Project controls procedures, activity quantity tracking, monthly, weekly and daily progress reports, monthly project Invoice for EP & C services and progress measurement report to the client (KOC). Also responsible for follow up with the client / client’s representative (Parson Engineers Limited/Fluor International Limited), answering client’s queries during the approval process. Coordination with engineering, procurement & construction departments to ensure smooth flow of inter disciplinary operations. Analyze project progress as per baseline CPM and alert management on problem areas.     Preparing and attending Monthly progress presentation meetings and weekly progress coordination   with client / client representative. Preparing the Change Proposals and participating in negotiations with client/client’s representative until Adjustment Order executed.  Participate in Negotiations with vendors/subcontractors in order to subcontract award. Verifying subcontractors/vendors monthly progress invoices. Prepared project close out report for the EPC project.

 

July 1998 – May 2002:Worked with M/S   China   Petroleum Engineering Construction Corp.(CPECC) (China’s state owned Company), Kuwait, as a ‘Planning / Cost Engineer’for the KOC Production Facilities Expansion – West Kuwait. (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Service for New (oil and gas) Gathering Centers GC27 and GC28 in Addition to 260 KM of Cross Country Transit Pipelines (Including 14 Tanks). Value of the Project was 631(461+170) million US dollars). Responsible for preparation of CPM schedule by using Primavera, daily, weekly& monthly reports, monthly project Invoice for EP & C services and progress measurement report to Client (KOC). Also responsible for follow up and answering client’s queries (if any) during the approval process. Also attending Monthly/Weekly Construction progress meetings with client or its representative (Parson Engineers Limited). Also responsible for evaluation of subcontractors Request for Change Orders and certification of subcontractor’s invoices for payments. Coordination with engineering, procurement & construction departments to ensure smooth flow of inter disciplinary operations, Preparation/monitoring cash inflow and outflow status. Analyze project progress as per baseline CPM Sch. and alert management on problem areas for mitigation and corrective actions.     Involved negotiation to hire subcontractors for additional works, additionally responsible for preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claim and Change Adjustment Request (CAR) (311 Nos.) for scope deviations/ additions against Prime Contract scope of work. Value of these (CARS) was KD 54 millions. Also involved in   Involved in necessary correspondence with client and subcontractors. Prepare subcontractor’s (EOT) analysis to mitigate lawyers to attend arbitration.

 

March 1996 – June 1998:Worked with M/s. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd in Kuwait as a ‘Planner and Quantity Surveyor (QS)’ for construction work on a full turnkey, including assembly and installation of eight (8) 300MW boilers and turbines for Subiya Oil-Fired Power Plant. The 2,400MW plant cost was around US $2.2bn on completion. I was responsible to preparation of CPM, monthly update of schedule as per work done, and monthly report submits to client. Also check work executed quantities of the Main Contractor / Sub-contractor and certify payment application as well as the variation orders.

 

June 1992 – February 1996:Worked with M/s. Al-Hamara, Kuwait. As a ‘Scheduler/ (QS)’ for the construction of Patriot Missile Depot. Facilities, Tactical Launching Station & Training School Projects were consisting of civil Electro-mechanical and steel structure works. Total value of these projects was 90 Million US$. My Responsibilities included preparations payment applications according to work executed at site. Followed-up payment applications submittal as liaison to Ministry of Defense to secure approval of payment application. I was also responsible to preparation of CPM network, monthly update of schedule as per work done, and monthly report submit to client In addition to the aforementioned, project specific duties, also participated in bid preparations for new projects. Contribution included BOQ preparation for all construction disciplines.

 

April 1988 – April 1992: Worked with M/s. Al-Jizzi Company, Muscat – Sultanate of Oman.  Joined Al-Jizzi Company as Quantity Surveyor/Estimator. Responsibility and activities included the following:-         Estimation for residential projects various building and Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO) Projects 1988 to 1989 Worked at Ibri site (PDO Projects) to look after estimation for Maintenance of plants and additional under ground and above ground lines for various fluid pipelines from 1989 to 1991 and value of the project was 3 million US$. Construction of 200-km sewage lines from Muscat to Al-Ghobra water treatment plant value of the project was about 10 million US$.

 

May 1987 – March 1988:Worked with M/s. Associated Consulting Engineers (ACE) Pakistan. as a ‘ Trainee Engineer’  Involved in preliminary design preparation for 200 villages electrification project funded by World Bank value of the project was 310 million US$.
