Luke Meagher
I started my career in FMCG Plastics Manufacturing where I developed a New Product Development Process and also ran the Intellectual Property of the said business. I worked as a Project Assistant in my gap year, was hired on a contract basis to finish the Product Development Process in my final year of University, and went back there as a Project Planner after completing my degree. I was then promoted to an Innovation Manager, where I developed new products, managed a product portfolio, and also conducted market research. The projects were based in the UK and Europe to which I also ran a European re-branding project. The production element of these project were UK and Far East based.
I then left to persue a career at Caterpillar Articulated Trucks as Project Planner. After a year and a half I was then promoted to the PMO Team Leader position where I led a team of planners to develop plans and control new projects. As part of this role we developed supplier plans to ensure successful deliveries with suppliers around the globe.
After my time at Caterpillar I then moved into Offshore Oil and Gas Equipment with IHC Engineering Business Limited to which I am currently the Planning Manager. My main roles are to develop a Planning Team to which we can give our major clients the confidence that we manage and control our projects correctly. We have moved to put in place Earned Value Management Techniques, Values of Work as our Progress Measurement, as well as calculating CPI and SPI for internal efficiency measures. I am also aiding in departmental and company wide process development due to my exposure to lean production techniques, 6 Sigma, and Product Development Process Development.
