Served apprenticeship as ship's draughtsman. Moved to planning area.

Have subsequently worked in planning from the pre computer era to the present day in shipbuilding planning from engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning.

Have also planning experience in power generation - coal power, gas turbine, combined cycle, outages.

Spent four years in offshore flexible piping engineering, procurement and fabrication project planning
