Previously a Small Business Manager and Graphic Designer, I was employed by Lean Field Developments (LFD) in May 2011 as a Labourer in the booming QLD CSG industry, specifically pipelines, as I was looking for a change from the office environment. After spending a couple of weeks getting ticketed for various skills, and less than a week practicing in the field, I was approached to assist in a Document Preparation and Control role, with the promise of returning to the field once necessary procedures were in place and a dedicated Document Controller was employed. After a few days in the office and realising the opportunities available to me within Project Controls, my desire to return to the field was released. Since then my responsibilities within LFD include:

• Document control
• Creating and maintaining project schedules (Primavera Contractor)
• Daily, weekly and monthly reporting
• Creating visual progress maps
• On site cost control (claims), and
• a few other bits and pieces

The LFD management team are an abundance of knowledge always willing to offer assistance and patience as I develop within the Project Controls sector. I am hoping the Guild will allow me to continue learning correct practices, and allow me to compare myself with industry standards.
