James G. Zack, Jr. is the Principal. James Zack Consulting and Senior Advisor to the Ankura Construction Forum.  Previously, he was the founder and Executive Director of the Navigant Construction Forum.  The Forum strives to be the construction industry’s resource for thought leadership and best practices on avoidance and resolution of construction project disputes globally.  Formerly he was the Executive Director, Corporate Claims Management, Fluor Corporation, one of the world’s largest publicly-owned engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance (EPCM) contractors working in the areas of energy, chemicals, infrastructure, manufacturing, life sciences and mining. 

Mr. Zack was previously Vice President of PinnacleOne and the Executive Director of the PinnacleOne Institute and a Senior Construction Claims Consultant for CH2M HILL, Inc. 

Mr. Zack has, for 46 years, worked on both private and public projects.  In the construction claims field, he is a recognized and published expert in mitigation, analysis and resolution or defense of construction claims and disputes. 

Mr. Zack has worked on claims and disputes throughout the United States, including projects in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C. and Wisconsin.  Mr. Zack has also worked on and  presented on construction claims in Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia, Canada; Alexandria and Cairo, Egypt; Shanghai, The People’s Republic of China; Australia; India; Malaysia; Sri Lanka; The Bahamas; Jamaica; Trinidad & Tobago; Guatemala; Albania; Germany; Kazakhstan; The Netherlands; Poland; Sovenia; The United Kingdom; Dubai; Kuwait; Saudi Arabia: Tatarstan, The Russian Federation; Mexico; Brazil; Chile; Peru; and Venezuela. 

Mr. Zack has been involved in 1,000’s of claims throughout his career and has been designated as an expert witness in mediation, arbitration and litigation. 

Mr. Zack is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, International (FAACEI); the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS); and the Guild of Prpoject Controls (FGPC).  He is also a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry; AACE International; Construction Management Association of America (CMAA);  the Project Management Institute (PMI); the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF); the Guild of Project Controls; trhe Royal Instutition oif Chartered Surveyors; and the Society of Construction Law - North America.  He is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM); a Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC); and a Project Management Professional (PMP).  Mr. Zack is a former President of AACE International.   

Mr. Zack is a nationally known author, speaker and trainer concerning the management, mitigation and resolution of construction claims and disputes and has testified as an expert witness.
