Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Contractor’s Planning Engineer:
· Pipeline Projects-(Approved Planning Engineer By ORPI–Sohar Refinery), Galfar SAOG, Oman: - Planned and scheduled the EPC project schedule and interfaces in collaboration with the project manager. - Developed the as-planned project program using Primavera P6 including estimation and review of available labor, materials, and equipment resources, based on project commodities, contractors' crew norms and site conditions. - Developed the progress measurement basis and generated a weighted turnaround document schedule-wise. - Managed the maintenance of the schedule through collecting monthly/weekly progress data and providing completion prediction analysis and recommendations to the project manager along with the project progress report. - Monitoring for the Critical Path slippage along with the development of the S-Curve which are used in the progress analysis. - The baseline and recovery plans have been approved by the client from the first submission. - The pipeline construction works are ongoing.
· Sewage Treatment Plant Project-Client: Haya Water (Galfar SAOG, Oman) Key Planning Support Function: - Completed the project design and procurement programs development in P6, assigned weighted costs and loaded resources for activity level using Primavera P6, as well as preparing and producing Earned Value metrics (EVMS) as per the client requirements. - Introduced a rigorous and adequate document/drawing register weighted and arranged schedule-wise to report engineering physical progress more efficiently. - Have successfully managed to create schedule buy-in by convincing the Joint-Venture team members to participate in creating planning-supportive documents and assessing the validity of every planning and scheduling step including the logic and interfaces. - Completed design baseline program with weights and planned man-hours in addition to the anticipated and updated Design program. - Completed a separate procurement schedule with weight and cost loading. - Moved from the STP project to PDO water flood projects (Nimr G & Karim West) to support the project team.
· Water Treatment Projects- Nimr-G & Karim West, Client: PDO (Galfar SAOG, Oman) - Updating Project Progress in P6, and preparing look-ahead plans. - Compiling and issuing the weekly and monthly reports. - Applying Probabilistic Risk Analysis into the P6 schedule - Updating the Turnaround document, progress S-Curves and VOWD - Resource and cost loading in Primavera as a basis for Earned Value Method (EVM) - Carrying out delay analysis for the project and negotiate mitigation actions - Preparing project recovery plans in coordination with the team members.
· Tender planning and scheduling(Galfar SAOG, Oman): - Have been working in different above 100m USD O&G tenders (Water Treatment plants and pipelines). - Studying the tender documents, visiting the proposed project site and understanding the client requirements and milestones. - Preparing a master plan indicating general milestones of the client and discussing the schedule approach with the proposal team. - Elaborating on the schedule up to level 3, and discussing with the team on resources requirements based on company standard norms. - Producing all required tender planning documents, and participating on the Method Statement preparation and the tender compilation. - Implementing Risk Probabilistic analysis in Primavera from the Risk Register. As a Client’s Planning and Project Engineer:
· Power Plant Projects (National Electricity Corporation, Sudan): - Reviewed the contractor’s schedule and planning documents and made comments where necessary to be in line with the specifications - Followed up the contractor’s boiler erection - Witnessed different tests at site after installation completion
· Power Plant Maintenance Planner(National Electricity Corporation, Sudan): - Worked as maintenance planning engineer for a combined cycle power plant, prepared preventive maintenance plans and performed spare parts management
