CAREER SUMMARY

Senior Project Management Instructor / Consultant. Past Vice-President of Procept Associates Ltd., a firm providing project management (PM) consulting and training services since 1993. Clients have included University of Toronto, Construction Education Council, Schulich School of Business, IMTARC, City of Calgary, City of Toronto, Region of York, Toronto Police Services, Kinectrics, the Government of Nunavut, Vale (INCO), Ontario Lottery & Gaming, Infrastructure Ontario, Cominco, Bruce Power, Public Works and Government Services Canada, Ontario Power Generation, and the National Energy Board.

Darya is currently Vice-Chair of the Canadian Mirror Committee for ISO/TC258 on projects, programmes and portfolios, Chair of the Editing Committee on Governance of projects, programmes and portfolios, past Chair of the Technical Development Group for ISO/TC258, and was previously an active member of ISO/PC236/CAC which developed the first international standard for project, programme and portfolio management (ISO 21500).

Darya is a practising Project Manager for over 20 years, first in “hard” projects managing industrial elevator installations with a mechanical contractor, and then in “soft” projects developing national and international standards with CSA International, and over 10 years managing consulting projects at Procept. A few of the projects include a PM governance framework for the Government of Nunavut, PM curriculum and competency frameworks for engineering organizations such as Kinectrics, IMTARC and the mining industry, PM methodology for Infrastructure Ontario, developing an ISO Risk Management standard for the elevator industry, and elevator installation projects for clients such as Hibernia GBS, Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, and Ontario Hydro. She has extensive international experience with clients in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. Darya has been also been a volunteer member of various task forces and committees for PMI.

Darya holds a degree in Engineering Science from University of Western Ontario, as well as additional credentials in project management, adult education design and facilitation. She is designated as a Professional Engineer, a Project Management Professional, a PRINCE2 Practitioner, a Project Scheduling Professional, and is Microsoft Certified Professional.

Besides the ISO and PMI volunteer work, Darya is an active volunteer in her community.
