·Senior Planning Engineer

(Orascom Construction Industries & Hassan Allam Sons);J.V (Nov 2007– Until now)

working as Senior planning engineer for J.V projects at Mall of Africa Project.

Projects Budgets:

1- Retail Mall & Geant Hypermarket & Kika Store: 1,327,000,000 L.E.

 Work include the following items:

Implementation of the “Project Execution Plan”.

  • Assist in the preparation and management of overview and strategic programmes, including design, procurement and construction schedules together with supporting information required schedules.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation and development of target construction and procurement schedules together with associated information required schedules.
  • Establish and agree project reporting procedures, prepare and present monthly project progress.
  • Should be able to manage and assist in the development junior planners.
  • Review the schedules and related documents from the contractor including monthly reports and analyze the content to ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Review schedule trends to identify problem areas and recommend corrective action to management.  Monitor actual progress against planned progress.
  • Monitor engineering design progress, material and equipment procurement and construction and commissioning status.
  • Prepare progress monitoring tools for the management and monitoring of the above mentioned schedules.  Monitor progress both on and off site.
  • Identify deviations (progress trends) in both construction and procurement progress and suggest possible courses of corrective action.
  • Maintain a regular photographic record of site progress and specific events impacting on site progress.
  • Working closely with the Planning Manager and Project Team to ensure that the main contractor’s ‘contract programme’ is feasible, complies with the Project Master Plan and contractual documents.

·Planning Engineer

Orascom Construction Industries, Feb 2006 – Nov 2007
Working as a planning engineer for OCI projects at Eastern Company industrial complex.

Projects Budgets:

1- 4 Stores & Administration building:             280,000,000 L.E.

2- Construction of Tobacco Factory building:  220,000,000 L.E.

 Work include the following items:

 Preparation of time schedules & updates using Primavera software.

  • Implementation of Resources on target schedules.
  • Preparation of monthly report for OCI.
  • Preparation of time claims.
  • Preparation of agenda for weekly progress meetings.
  • Preparing weekly comparisons between actual/planned works.
  • Calculation of Productivity Rates etc….
  • Review of Cost Control Reports.
  • Site experience with hi-standard Finishing items (plaster, painting, ceramic, water & thermal proofing, false ceiling, parquet, carpet, granite etc…).
  • Review of Invoices & preparation of comparison sheets.
  • Responsible to the Project Controls Manager for performing all aspects of planning/scheduling of all engineering and construction activities for the project.
  • Monitors job progress according to schedules.
  • Coordinates critical items of supply with material expeditors.
  • Participates in expenditure forecasts.
  • Performs schedule analysis.
  • Supports the preparation of monthly progress reports.

·Technical Office Engineer

Working as a Technical Office Engineer at Orascom Construction Industries projects at Eastern Company industrial complex.
