Hello, my name is Steve Simpson.

Originally from the North of England I emigrated out to Australia in 2008 where I lived in Adelaide, SA for approx 2.5 years before moving to Sydney, NSW.

I started working as a planner while living in England for an Oil and Gas company which specialised in the Design, Testing, Manufacturing and Installation of flexible pipelines for use on Rigs and the sea bed.

My first role as a planner / scheduler was to manage the dynamic manufacturing schedule and later also became involved in the planning / managing of the schedules for several large projects base in the North Sea and South America.

Once I moved to South Australia I started working in the Utilities sector for an Electricity Generating company and managed the Project planning around the 10 year regulatory period. This included detailed schedules including resources and costs for those projects which were underway or due to start in the near future and more high level strategic scheduling for those projects out in the future. Alongside the portfolio management I also supplied a lot of reporting based on the schedules / resources / costs and used tools such as CPM and EVM.

After being apporached by another company I started as a PMO scheduler responsible for setting up the scheduling practices and standards in a newly formed PMO tasked with managing the IT program of works for South Australias Electricity Transmission agency. This included the creation of a costed global resource pool which was used for all projects in the portfolio as well as the creation and management / standards of the project schedules within the portfolio.

I moved to NSW in early 2011 to work on a major IT project for the Westpac group developing their online banking platform before moving to my current position in the Telecommunications industry, for a company which includes Telstra, Optus, Vodaphone & Huawei in its customer base.

Throughout my career I have worked on many different projects within many different industries which has helped me to become very adaptable at understanding different requirements and learning new skills.
