Brian Lock
Brian Lock has developed a range of technical and management skills through many years’ experience in the planning, scheduling and management of projects and engineering maintenance. He has 38 years’ practical experience gained from a variety of situations and positions with various employers—RAAF, Boeing, Australian Aerospace Ltd, Ansaldo STS and KBR.
More recently he has been working on major civil projects including bids, studies, approvals, environmental, design, procurement and construction on rail, road, LNG, Iron ore, waste water, water treatment, desalination, research and pipeline projects.
Mr Lock has broad ‘hands-on’ experience working in teams and alliances or autonomously. His good communication and interpersonal skills allow him to easily fit into any multi-disciplinary project team. He has been involved in setting up, mentoring and supporting teams often in other company’s facilities.
Mr Lock’s specialist skills include data manipulation and interaction for project controls, engineering, and logistics support for complex project and maintenance scheduling. He is able to adopt an organised and systematic approach to problem solving, with the capacity to build and develop appropriate responses.
Within military aviation, he has a proven track record in, and comprehensive knowledge of, all levels of aircraft maintenance, modification, engineering and scheduling. His extensive technical trades training within the Royal Australian Air Force has developed skills in engineering including designing, drafting, construction and administration of modifications. He is able to develop, promote and implement ideas to continually achieve a high standard.
Specialties: Project Schedule set up and maintaining using Microplanner XPert, MS Project, OPP, and Primavera. Mentoring and training new planners.
