Work Experience Overview
I have over 25 years of experience in the Petrochemical and Oil & Gas Industry in project controls (cost and planning), of which the last 15 years have been with ExxonMobil in a cost planning/scheduling role. This entailed working on various projects from FEED/Detail Design, including Procurement phase to Fabrication/Construction through to Commissioning & Start-up.
Prior to this period I held similar positions in project controls, cost & planning at multi discipline level to lead/manager for various multinational corporations, such as Foster Wheeler, Shell and TotalFinaElf.
I Joined WCMP Projects (Imperial Oil) in Calgary Canada 2009, as the planning lead to set up a common project planning and progress reporting system for three new projects ATM, AMR and MLMR with responsibility for overseeing WCMP planners and subcontractor planning activities. During this period I was involved in development of the in house project planning procedures for all three projects including weekly and monthly reporting. After this was accomplished and the projects were sufficiently advanced for individual planners to continue with day to day planning duties for their respective projects I then transitioned over to the MLMR project full time. I was responsible for managing both Imperial Oil and contractors schedules and interfaces including project control metrics for weekly and monthly reporting to management from FEED through to Detail Design, Procurement, construction and mechanical completion. Then moving to commissioning and plant start-up with final turnover to operations, and close-out report of the project at Imperial Oil head office in South East Calgary.
