ALVARO ACHURY, senior / lead planner with more than 15 years of experience

I am fluent in English and Spanish. I read and speak in French but I can not write it.

My background is Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Project Management. My thesis work and later studies have all been focused on project management.

I have worked in many countries and different cultures ( Canada, Colombia, Iraq, Jamaica, Morocco and United Arab Emirates ) and different industries (Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Power & Automation, Chemicals)

My main skill is "Adaptability"... I like to travel and work in new projects... I like to learn about new projects so I always get to study how things works, to know how projects work so that I can really help better to plan the project and propose ideas/solutions.

I believe the "schedule" is a communication tool.. so I like to convert complex project situations or complex schedules into simple schedules, schematics or diagrams so that the project management and different stakeholders can easily understand the project and take better decisions.

I am also a very organized and proactive person in my work... and, as a good engineer, I like to do my work in a logical and efficient way. I also believe that projects are like puzzles so that is why I like to know how they work so that I can help to put the pieces together.
