START Date:
April, 2013
END Date:
October, 2014 Preforming the duty of Project Manager for the construction of Putney Station (£10m) which is one of the busiest suburban commuter stations in London, with 18 trains per hour passing through it at off-peak times alone. More than 11 million people used the station in 2012-13, making it busier than the stations of several large cities.
· The small but dedicated worked on site to install three new lifts, expand the concourse area which consisted of a reinforced concrete frame spanning 4 tacks and platforms, build new ticket gates and install new toilets all above the rail network.
· A temporary footbridge with staircases, which was installed to maintain access to all platforms throughout the works, was removed three weeks ahead of schedule serving approx 20 million passengers.
· The Putney project is one of the most logistically challenging Access for All schemes on the NR network.
· Various duties carried out by myself included subcontractor appointment, stake holder liaison, appointment of various members of the team taking the lead for Health and Safety, ITP’s and Quality.
· Due to the small team including part time positions I had responsibility for the close working in relation to the coordination of the program and commercial issues.
