May, 1997 Pentre Engineering Design & Manufacture Cable Reels for heavy cables, these reels can typically take tens of tonnes load & be wound to high line tensions.
Employed to design and detail various types of cable reel and associated items using AutoCad V12. The design work involved detailed Stress Analyses on all aspects of a reel from barrel buckling due to wire wedging through to spoke bending due to dead (and dynamic) loading. I was trained as a Network Supervisor (Novell Netware). My last main role at the company was to create a new database program to log all drum designs and incoming enquiries. I highlighted and investigated errors in the company's ‘BASIC’ drum design computer program, and wrote a new program to correct problems.
