September, 2015 Job Description as Planning Engineer
Preparation of detailed baseline programme and planning package
• Identifying critical path, major engineering deliverables, major procurement deliverables and project deliverables
• Preparation of fully resource loaded and cost loaded programme for internal and clients submission
• Equipment resource planning and forecasting for Marine as well as land resources
• Manpower planning for various phases of project
• Generating of Histograms for Equipment and Labor resources and monitoring actuals against planned regularly
• Preparing and getting approval of Progress Measurement Procedures for project
• Creating detailed weightage for each activities with supporting documents and generating S curve for project (early curve and late curve)
• Creating various tables and charts for progress monitoring from approved baseline programme
• Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team
• Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas
• Monitoring of progress against approved baseline using SPI, CPI & Earned Value Analysis and thru various charts, curves and reports and keeping track of variance and informing management regularly
• Preparation & submission of Progress Reports/Charts through Project Management Software – Primavera6 and submitting to the Department Heads, Client, Consultant and Main Contractor
• Generating of look ahead programmes for construction team and fort micro planning
• Preparation of detail documents for extension of time (EOT) for the project and for acceleration and variation of the project
• Evaluate and analyse with team risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.
• Attending weekly and monthly progress meetings with client
• Monitoring of sub-contractor progress
• Handling of various projects together like Africa Project and UAE Projects
