I am currently Head of Planning for BAM Nuttall, a £750m turnover company within the Royal Bam Group. I have a company wide functional responsibility for providing support and guidance in relation to planning matters; from procedures, standards, guidance, systems and governance to practical hands on support, training and mentoring to all operational staff including some 70 planning engineers. I also enjoy the strategic vision and goal setting facets of the role and contribute to several industry wide forums.
My professional background is as a Chartered Civil Engineer. I have over 35 years of diverse civil engineering experience, principally within Major Projects and Asset Management. I have worked for two major UK civil engineering contractors, Costain and BAM Nuttall, and moved into full time planning over 25 years ago.
Over the past decade I have worked across planning, commercial and financial functions managing in-house development of Project Controls systems; held the role of Delivery Manager managing the development, configuration and delivery of Project Financial & Change Management modules within an EnterpriseOne commercial systems replacement project; provided planning support to the same overall project; led and managed the transition from standalone Primavera SureTrak installations to a P5 Enterprise solution and until four years ago maintained a hands on operational planning role.
