I graduated with honors in Structural Engineering at Swinburne University, Melbourne, Australia, in 1994. During the past 16 years I have been employed as a Planning Engineer using Primavera, Monte Carlo, Microsoft Project and Artemis Controller software. In my positions I have acted as both a Planning Engineer working in a team then to being the team Planning Manager, these positions included all duties from setting up and maintaining resource loaded programmes to Risk Analysis. The vast majority of my positions have involved the extensive use of Earned Value Analysis, including instruction of other planners in this method of progress measurement, leading to a thorough knowledge of the subject. I have had the opportunity to develop planning processes and have had input into the setup of Planning and Project Controls systems. During my career I have been able to train and mentor many planners which has led to a more complete knowledge of planning and cost fundamentals which has aided my own understanding of these subjects greatly. More recently I have been the database administrator for a major programme maintaining some 80 odd licences within our database. With this I have had to develop many tools to maintain quality and to keep the database to a reasonable size.
