Automatic Running Number for Activity Id

Dear P6 Experts,

Is there any easier or straight forward way to re-number the activity ids so that at the end of the schedule development process, we will have a properly sequenced running numbers? At times, we do insert additional activities in between other activities and the end result is a non sequential id numbers.

I noticed that the only way to change the activity id running numbers in bulk is by exporting it out to excel, changing the running numbers there and importing back to P6.

Is there anyway to use global change to automate the running numbers?
