Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi there; my 1st ever post.

I have a customer managing large project with multiple workstreams (or sub-projects) each with it's own manager.

I'd normally recommend using Primavera P6 for this but the client wanted to use MS Project so that the managers can edit their own projects; minimizing the need for a specialist planner (I'm basically co-ordinating).

I've got the job running using multiple subprojects in a master file but the trouble is that I'm finding this to be very 'clunky' as the subprojects and the 'master' project are very large. I’ve heard that a better solution might be MS Project Server. Does it operate more like P6 (I hope so) which gives good inter-project interfaces and visibility of data?

Can anyone share their experiences or advise? Much obliged.

Nick
