Assistant Planner (Build & Construction), Willmott Dixon, (various projects)
I have day to day experience of tender programming my own projects using Microsoft Project, site logistics planning, material take offs, cost calculations, 3D logistic plans, live programme tracking and scheduling, client interviews and presentations. I also have a basic understanding of Asta PowerProject, which I believe I could learn to use proficiently very quickly.
I also have experience of tracking progress of programmes on live construction sites.
I successfully completed a three year graduate management training scheme within Willmott Dixon Construction in which I carried out work placements in all disciplines of the business e.g. Site Management, Design Management Quantity Surveying and Planning. This gave me an invaluable appreciation of the different aspects that form a construction company and how these aspects need to work together effectively to be successful and efficient. I moved into planning full time in October 2010 and after successful completion of the scheme I was promoted to assistant planning engineer in September 2011. I am very interested in expanding my experience in planning and programming on live construction sites.
My excellent communication skills aid me to create good relationships with people at all levels, internally and externally. I thrive working as part of a team and push myself to achieve targets and goals. I can also work independently and manage my own time effectively. I feel I can bring a positive and enthusiastic hardworking attitude to an employer with an ambition to better myself and projects alike. In the future I hope to gain experience working on a vast variety of projects learning about innovative building materials and designs.
