Senior Planner/Programme Controls Manager, Parsons Brinckerhoff International, North West Gas Alliance (NWGA)
I am currently the Programme Controls Manager on the North West Gas Alliance (NWGA). I am in charge of a team of 4 planners where we plan and control the lay and abandonment of 526km (£100 million). We use Primavera P6 which is connected directly to the Commercial, Noticing and Validation databases to input or/and view data from our database. We update the programme weekly and dashboard reports are provided to the directors.
Previous to thisI worked for BBUS Business Improvement Manager reviewing and proposing the way forward for managing and planning their projects. I recommended that an EPM solution be implemented. This led to me taking on a temporary role as their National Planning Manager that included implementing the EPM solution along with the day-to-day business. I also worked on successful tenders for the United Utilities (UU) and Yorkshire Water contracts.
Prior to this I worked on UU programmes using Primavera for BBUS Wastewater team and Large Diameter Trunk Mains (LDTM) team both in the North West to provide United Utilities with weekly/monthly updates.
I also had a 3 month stint working for Arquiva and the Digital Switchover. Arquiva needed helping converting their old programmes to the new template after a merger with National Grid Wireless.
