Birmingham BSF - Planning Consultant

The commission was to create a Integrated Design Programme (IDP) which can be used across a number of BSF New build and Refurbishment schemes.

􀂃 Produced 5 Integrated Design Programmes across New Build and Refurbishment school projects.
􀂃 Produced IDP to be used on across a number of schools of varying size and specialist subject fields.
􀂃 Recreate three stages within the BSF plan of works and also aligned with RIBA plan of works.
􀂃 Facilitate workshops with the Design Team in order to gain by in and comments.
􀂃 Align the IDP with the Main contractor’s Procurement and Construction programmes.
􀂃 Highlight where design can be advanced acceptably in order to stagger procurement.

Terminal 4, Heathrow Airport, London – Baggage System Planning Manager

Responsibilities / Duties:

􀂃 Produced and coordinated the Integrated Baggage programme across a portfolio of projects.
􀂃 Actively monitoring progress of subcontractors / consultants and creating reports at regular intervals to
inform the Project leader and Stakeholders.
􀂃 Initiating additional activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are
identified.
􀂃 Managing third party contributions to the programme.
􀂃 Resolving issues and initiating mitigation strategies where relevant.
􀂃 Ensuring that the delivery of the baggage system and any associated processes are to the appropriate
levels of quality and on time.
􀂃 Facilitating the appointment of individuals to the project delivery teams.
􀂃 Ensuring that there is efficient allocation of common resources and skills within the project portfolio.
􀂃 Managing the communications with stakeholders.
􀂃 Managing risks to the programme’s successful outcome.
􀂃 Directly responsible for 3 project planners.

Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford, London – Project Planner

I worked for 14 months on Stratford City which is to be one of the Gateways to the 2012 Olympic Site. The development is to be a mixed use site of retail, office and residential. I was part of a team which developed the concept design programme and moved on to creating the Integrated Design Programme as well as the construction
programme. Liaised with and monitored subcontractor progress, initiated mitigation strategies, facilitated project meetings and created regular project reports and Dashboards for the Management team.

Responsibilities / Duties:

􀂃 Created all working drawings from approved planning elevations and floor plans within deadlines.
􀂃 Consultation of Building Regulations to ensure the planner’s design meets the NHBC guidelines.
􀂃 Devised solutions for designs where they did not meet NHBC regulations.
􀂃 Client liaison to define requirements & specifications within each development.
􀂃 Reviewed all drawings supplied from other parties (Engineers, Pre-cast Concrete manufacturers) to ensure their accordance with specifications & design.
