B30 Legacy Pond is an ailing building from the 1960s that is at various stages of decommissioning. Known as the most polluted industrial building in Europe, it represents one of the world’s toughest radiological decommissioning operation engaging all levels of stakeholders. Value is in excess of £70m over the whole life-cycle. Scope includes; O&M, EPC, construction, HVAC, all levels of waste disposal routes within stringent safety practices. Weekly and monthly reporting included EVM/EVA, forecasting; FTEs, VoWD, accruals, trend monitoring, SAP data interrogation, budget and cost reconciliation, and other QS type functions.

Vendors include multi-disciplined design houses, fabricators, and plant staff to name but a few. The major phase in the project was the implementation of the OJEU contractor, using Prince2 methodology within an NEC3 framework.

Achievements include: implementing key vendor reporting management to over 18 vendors to improve forecasting and out-turn to within 95% of forecast. I developed specific reporting to show all internal and external commitments, at appropriate levels, across 27 work-streams, 80 interfaces, over 100 purchase orders, 100+ internal resources (varied disciplines), for multiple-Project Managers. I was a key member in producing the fully underpinned lifetime plan which was formally recognised by the NDA as the best submission to date by BNGSL. The project is valued in excess of £70m.

As a result of my prior experience, I found that I was involved in providing advice and guidance in all commercial aspects including; terms and conditions, commodity purchasing, payments schedules, and general project facilitation.
