Might be an interesting topic for all of us. Exchanged few words with Bill Prince about how to include BIM into the Bid documents

I hear the following sentence quite often (at least in France): 'we dont do BIM because our Client does not ask for it'. Companies are 'experimenting' with BIM with various success. What I seen so far is that project teams are taking on BIM as a project based initiative, while the organization itself does not really uses it.

So here is the question: if you do BIM on a project or corporate level, why you do it? Are you doing to internally support the project delivery? or are you doing it to provide the model as part of your engineering package?

if it is part of the engineering package, the model and its generation was included in your bid? What method you are using to convince your Client that the BIM is a uselful addition to the engineering and construction effort?

I hope to hear your opinion regarding this issue.
