Female Planning Specialists Wanted
In addition to the above we have a message for the female planners and scheduler's from several female planning & scheduling experts, which reads as follow:
"There may be few women within your discipline, company, or even country so an accessible worldwide forum is the opportunity to network with other women working in similar roles. We hope that we can grow this online community and through knowledge share and debate identify the challenges facing women and improve their role and status."
"So if you have a story about your career (good or bad), ideas and knowledge you’d like to impart or you just want to see the opinions of other female professionals please join the forum. We cannot make this work without your support and participation."

What is Building Information Modeling (BIM)?
There is a planners meeting in London next week to tell those interested in this issue, a little more about the challenges of implementing BIM on your project.
The free (non-selling) presentation is called "Survival Guide - Implementing 4D during Construction"
The Concept of 4D BIM... 4D BIM Models link components in 3D CAD models (3d objects) with tasks and activities from our design, procurement, and construction schedules / programmes. The resulting 4D production model of a project allows project stakeholders to view the planned construction of a project over time on a PC screen and to review a 3D CAD model for any day, week, or month of a particular project.

Recruitment / Job Watch (UK only, sorry we need overseas recruiters to tell us their story)
Hello and welcome to this month’s installment of the Planning recruitment watch, brought to you by Project Resource.
April saw an interesting shift in the demand for planners in the UK both geographically and in terms of industry experience and a steady demand on par with previous months. Whilst previously we have seen he majority of demand coming from the Midlands and West London & the Thames Valley we have recently been registering a considerably more even spread of planning vacancies with growth in demand in the North and South East of England and Central London; good news for planners in those areas.
With regards to industry we are currently seeing a huge demand for planners from a general build background in the Midlands and oil & gas, nuclear and EPC backgrounds in the North and South.
Finally, our Central London team are reporting significant demand for senior planners and planning managers with a focus on rail and heavy civil's backgrounds.
Thanks for reading, be sure to check back next month for the latest planning recruitment news.

Fastest Professionals Alive?
Just a quick note, this one from PP Admin, to advise that our Google Analytic's team have announced that our great community (i.e. you and me) has surpassed all records in terms of new users per hour, page visits per day, forum postings per day and also time spent on our (yes, yours and ours) wonderful community portal.
Please stop reading for a moment and give yourself a pat on the back. If the person next to you gives you a funny look, please tell them about us. Planning Planet... some would say, well perhaps, even 40,000+ of us, would say: "Where the best planners, schedulers and project controllers network."
Be proud of your planning.

Professional Recognition
Last week was a milestone in the history of project planning, scheduling and project controls. A group of leading planning managers, from some of the worlds top global companies, met in a conference facility in Covent Garden, in the centre of London, England:
- These people helped shape the future of our profession.
- These people defined why our profession is not suitably recognised as a profession.
- These people talked about the fact that we do not have a defined career path.
- These people shared information on how we are partnering with professional bodies.
- These people laid the formal foundation for the Guild of Project Planning, Controls & Delivery (GPPCD).
- These people have not given us anything more than the above to report! (sorry, sarcasm provided free by PP Admin)
Please watch this space as a report is being published on where we are collaborativly taking ourselves.
