Ed,

Yes editing is currently the only tool at our disposal to moderate the forums. I suggest you reference this old thread in our moderators forum: Establishing Guidelines. This has not been implemented yet, but I believe that something should be done as soon as practical.

As moderators we have the capabiblity to modify posts.

Do we need any guidelines for this feature? If somebodies posts has been changed does it need to be "marked" moderated?

Is there a difference between editing and moderating?

Bye,

Thanks,

Hello again,

Ooops. Just found the reason. I have changed the script. Can you keep an eye on your next NEW TOPIC and REPLY posting to see if it is still working correctly.

Thanks.

Hi,

When you place a hyperlink in a forum message be careful to check the web reference after it has been posted.

If the address has some & charactors in it (usually occurs when you insert a link to another forum message) the script will change them to and and your hyperlink will not work. I have been changing all of the ones that I see - just a word of warning.

Keep up the GREEAT work.

It is winding me up - but will be fixed.

Hi there,

I have flicked the switch and put the edit function on. I have done some simple security functions in such that if someone tries to edit another post (by changing the message number via the url on the browser) it will take them to the login page.

Regards.

Yes please- I have been frustrated when I have spotted an error in my posting and not been able to amend it.

I believe that I am already on record as requesting this feature. Everyone should be able to edit their own posts, IMO.
