I totally disabled (deleted) the finger print reader software which comes standard with the laptop (Compaq nw9440), and "Hey Presto", the Autofilter issue has disappeared.

Now MSP is working great !!

1. I was using MSP Standard 2002 with Service pack 1. It worked fine on my old laptop with XP. So the crashing is either the new Laptop or Vista.
2. So then I uninstalled MSP 2002 and loaded MSP Standard 2003 and experienced the same issue.
3. Then I downloaded Service Pack 3 for MSP 2003 and experienced the same issue.
Short of buying MSP 2007, Im at a loss. I read somewhere that a Finger Print Reader can effect Autofilter ??

MSP 2007 is plenty of bugs; try downloading the SP1, some things work better than with the original release.

Which version of Project are you running ? Do you get
any error messages ?
