I have been cought out with this when running a global change it only works on filtered activities (so check your filter). If your activity is not included it will retain the old User Value !!! Be careful !!!

By using global change u can define the value of a "User defined field".
1. Click on "Tools" --> "Global Change", click on "New", in the "Select subject area" select "Activities" (if u want to modify resources assignment choose Activity Resource Assignment).
2. Now in the "If" field choose a criteria to apply (or otherwise if u want to apply the statement on all of the activities leave it blank).
3. In the "Then" field and under "Parameter" choose your "User defined field" that u created, in the first "Parameter/Value" choose the % planned, in the "Operator" field choose (-), & finally in the second "Parameter/Value" choose % complete.
4. After that click on "Change" on the left pane, after reviewing the "Old value" VS. the "New value" click on "Commit Changes" or "Cancel Changes".
5. U can show the new "User Defined Field" in the layout by clicking on "Columns" icon and then choosing "User Defined" list and selecting your "User Defined Field" name.
