How to proceed to prépare the Master planning ,what are the steps to follow...
Which calculation méthod to use ,the type of the activities,....

first you determine your self , how you want to update your project,
is that schedule have fixed resource or fixed duration.
best practice is herego
1- duration type ===== fixed duration and unit
2-Percent type ====== Duration for engineering & procurement activity,
Physical for construction activity.
3-Activity type ========== Task Dependent , ( for mile stone depends start MS or Finish MS )
with this setting you need to update your schedule based on your physical judgement or progress measurement sheet,
update with Phy % value , remaining duration, start date , etc,
resource update actual unit and remaining units..
May be you have to choice the Step méthod
