I got this from the primavera tech support that the GPF was due to the number of holidays in each calender had exceeded the limit of 935 days. Where as the change in remaining duration is a known problem in P5 which occurs on activites with remaining duration equal to 1. This would be taken care of in next release of p5
One thing to be wary of is that P5 does not have the P3 Interruptible Activities CPM calculation setting. Be sure to use Continious Activities. Good luck!
Somewhere in the documentation there is a list of steps to take to reduce GPF errors. Sorry I cant remember where!
Go to Help About from the menu and check your version. It should show 3.1 SP3. If not SP3 then log on to the Primavera web site and download the Service Pack 3 update. These Service Packs are not on the installation disks. (This solved a repeated GPF on a new installation for us.)
I used a new built calender in P5 to ecport the schedule back to P3 and it worked. I have another probelem now. Duration on some of teh activities changes after I export and schedule from P5 to P3. Please let mw know If anyone has encounted with such a situation. It would be a great HELP.
Nigel, I am using Pv3.1.
What version of P3 are you running. When P3v2 16bit was recompiled to take advantage of Windows 32bit environment it was not fully NT compliant on version 3.0, thus 3.1 followed shortly to remidy this. NT does not allow applications to make direct calls to Periffials. So if you are running Windows NT,2000 or XP ensure you are running P3v3.1, other than this...?
In this case, I cannot answer
I may try it. Thank You. FYI it gives the error only on the schedules which I export from P5.
Hello,
I would uninstall then reinstall the software.
