To all those requesting a file on this thread: Please send Vishnu a private message rather than posting your email adress here. This is for two reasons:

1) There are spammers active on this site, so broadcasting your email address is a bad idea

2) The forums are for discussions, not for resurrecting a thread from over 2 years ago in order to ask for a freebie.

U can produce report in excel by connecting to SDK (you don't need license to connect to the MS SQL database).  or u can directly connect to MS SQL database and manipulate the data in excel.

Neils Gao,

I’m totally clear with your explanation and could you forward it that sample to me? One thing I want to ask u...recently I’m exporting P6 file to spreadsheet (excel) and P3 but I confront a problem once I’m trying to import it back to P6. The WBS automatically is broken (from P3) and no changes on data such like resources and BQ (from excel file)

I can tell you that P3 is more user friendly. Please let me know If I was wrong on my statement.

Now this is One time Effort...copy the Values from Primavera and Paste into excel .....Name that sheet as P6Backup...Now Link the reports in the succeding Sheets with that sheet ...do not make any change into the Backup Sheet...Now every time you need to update the reports just update the Program and copy and paste the data in that Sheet the values will be replaced by the New Updated values from Primavera and simultaeneously the succeding reports will be updated..if you want i can mail u a sample file

hi Neils

thanks for the sample file, but unfortunately my P6 licence don’t have a permission to use SDK.

what i meant is a weekly report or somthing like that, that use data extracted from P6, so P6-----> excel.

i just want to see how others ;) use as a weekly report !!

friendly yours.

Actually, I think if the excel file has a live link to P6 database(maybe you mean to be through SDK), when you have a copy,

perhaps it doesn’t work in your machine.

because they are different database.

The same thing will be happen when you establish a link to Access.

Besides, I don’t think the data from the P6 database could be used directly, not beautiful enough.
