Hi deepak.. yes but depending on your contract term. if your client giving a milestone payment is very good to do front loaded. you can earn in early stage. good for cash flow. if actual progress payment better no to do front loaded...
Thnx Daniel..So In such projects, if cost projections are also front-loaded, then there will be a reasonable possibility of making payments for work not completed..Isnt it ?
Cheers
Deepak
It depends on what kind of project you have. There are projects which would require you to do the bulk of the work up front and so the ideal S curve in this case is not applicable.
Cheers Mate,
Daniel
Oki..if it makes a difference, then I dont think that we could ever be able to achieve a "S" curve while plotting Budget value against Time. So the moral is :) that Project Baselines should never be front loaded. What you think ?
hi... yes its make a difference. if you distribute resource/cost value. the percentage of the value is depending on duration you put in. all the cost will culculate automaticly or prorate by the duration you assign. if we make front loaded. we can earn early. (cash flow forecast/budget). for finacialy maonitoring.
Hi Jain,
Forward pass is Early Start plus Duration = Early Finish, at points of convergence, the latest early finish pervails. Early Finish of last activity = late finish of network.
Backward Pass is Late Finish minus Duration = Late Start, at points of convergence the earliest late start is used.
I dony think it makes a difference in the way you distribute Resource/Cost values.
Cheers.
Karen
Thnx Tq..extending onto this, does both kinds of Baselines make a difference in the way you distribute Resources/Cost values into your schedule ?
Hi Deepak..
Front Loaded - you derive all the activity in early start.. etc. 1 year project. you assign all the activity start concurrent. let say you have 100 activity. 80 activity almost completed 6 month before completed project. so we call this fornt loaded.
