Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Sometimes when I open a file the layout is completely fine, other times it doesn’t completely work - only happens when the programme has ’indented’ group and sort for some activity codes.

Any reason? How do I fix this?

Yep, I see where you’re coming from.

An obvious question but is the "To level" set to the correct number of levels?

More importantly, did you remember to save the layout once it was fixed? The number of times I’ve forgot.... ******!

David,

I wish I could explain it simply!

I am using Activity Codes, not WBS. Lets say I have 5 levels of coding with a 6th level as 5.1, a 7th level as 5.1.1. What happens is sometimes the group and sort only works for 5 levels and drops out 5.1 and 5.1.1. Its strange. Every now and then it mucks up and. I have figured out a way to resolve it but it isn’t permanent.

Hmmmm, I can’t say I’ve seen this and wee always use indenting for wbs and code breaks. Can you explain what you mean by doesn’t work?

I am assuming you are sure you are applying the same layout each time yet get different results.
