Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

We are trying to use Earn Value Management System and P3 in parallel. How could be able to use “Estimated time to completion (ETC)" calculated by EVMS in P3? ETC is based on the "Scheduled Performance Index (PSI)" another EVMS definition. Is there any solution to help us using P3 to forecast based on the PSI and ETC?

HELLO ABAS

THIS SIMPLE EVM FORMULA WILL NOT HELP YOU IN FORECASTING THE COMPLETION DATE OF ANY TASK OR WHOLE PROJECT.

P3 FINISH DATE WILL BE ONLY REALISTIC WHEN MOST OF THE LOGIC ARE F-S AND THE PHYSICAL WORK IS GOING AS PER PLAN I MEAN NO OUT OF SCUENCE WORK

SO THERE IS ONLY WAY OUT IS PERFORMANCE BASE ANALYSIS
THIS IS SIMILAER TO EVMA BUT ONE STEP MORE

WE ARE VERY SUCCESSFULLY USUING IT IN OUR PROJECTS

AND I HAVE ALSO USED IT IN DUBAI POWER PROJECT IT WORKS WELL

SPI= (BCWP)/(BCWS) or for each activity (Plan Value) / (Earned Value) or Plan/Actual
in Earned Value Management System :
ETC= ATE/ %C or
ETC= ATE + (OD-ATE*SPI)/SPI or
ETC= OD/SPI

But in P3 Calculations:
ETC = ATE + (1-%C)*OD

SPI: Schedule Performance Index
BCWP: Budgeted Cost of Work Performed
BCWS: Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled
ATE: Actual Time Expended
%C: % Complete
OD: Original Duration

Hello,

If we are agreed for the relation of 3 variables is

BCWP = SPI x (BQ - ETC)

in my assumption that BCWS = BQ
ACWP = BCWS - ETC

So you have all these 3 variable in P3 Calculation.

Sorry if this comment cannot fulfill your query.
