Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear all,

1) I try to add one more column to which is shows the variance
between actual percent complete and the target percent complete but i
didnt manage to get it.I try to create it by using the custom data
item and global changes but the problem was i didnt get the data item
for the target percent complete. So How could i get the progress
variance ??

2)Is there any limitation for make any operation such as substract ,
add and etc by using the Global Changes. How many operation can we do
at onces.

For yours information, my project doesnt have the resources yet.. It is only based on the percent complete and remaining duration..anyway thanks for ur advise..
Regards,

first you have to create a target schedule from your current schedule, if you already have a baseline/target schedule, make this schedule to be available in the current schedule layout

i.e
Tools->Project utilities->targets and choose the schedule you want to compare.

then only you can get those figures that you wanted to get.......

regarding global change it depends on the availability of row in global field i believe you can use many conditions but use it wisely.

Hamid,

It seems like you are undergoing a self-learning process like me. I have also faced problems like these, which pushed me to get help from books.

I would strongly recommend that you read the book "Planning Using Primavera Project Planner" by Paul E. Harris.

I have found his books really helpful in accomplishing essential tasks like comparing actual with target progress.

Good Luck.
